Selection Criteria

While focused on investigators at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Lerner Research Institute, the grant provides funding to investigators within the Lerner Research Institute at large. If the project contains a component of engineering science and/or technology.  Trans-disciplinary projects are also encouraged.  Eligible projects will require a counterpart from UTEC in Peru. The BME department and UTEC will assist applicants to establish counterpart connections if not known at the time of application. The period of performance is normally one year. However, ongoing funding beyond the initial grant will be considered on a case by case basis.

The CC-UTEC Grants can only be used for research and project relevant activities, including collaboration meetings and workshops. The budget should include overhead and any other additional costs that will be incurred through the project execution.
